Those Little Comment Cards

Ok, so I have a habit of filling out those little comment cards that you find on your table when you dine at a restaurant. My sisters will remember me filling one out at a Wendy's in Nephi several years ago. I was so angry with the service I received that nite, and the comment card I sent in ultimately scored me a free meal!

Then there was the time I wrote to IN-n-Out to tell them how fond I was of their food. I even volunteered to come work for them for FREE- cutting french fries, if they would just open an In-n-Out in Utah County. I received a nice reply from them, but I am still waiting for them to take me up on the offer.

When we were on vacation last month, we dined at Bob Evans. Their home style food was so good, that we went back a couple more times to enjoy it again. The last time was in Festus, MO, just before St. Louis. Guess what? There was a 'comment card' on the table. Of course that was my invitation to tell the folks at corporate know how much we enjoyed their food, and to put in a shameless plug for Utah and to tell them how well one of their restaurants would be accepted here. I never expected that I would hear back (I never do) but I was surprised to get this letter from them last Saturday:

Ha! I remember the comment card at Wendy's. I remember you writing on it "I'm telling Dave" and then not that long after Dave Thomas died. Weird.

I should get in the habit of filling out comment cards when I'm pleased...I usually just fill them out when I'm mad about something. But I'll tell ya, mad letters usually get results. I've gotten free movie tickets, free meals, and the like.

Awesome. That would be cool to have one of those Close. Or at least Closer!

Wow. Sounds like you had a religious experience with Bob Evans! How far away is the closest one to Utah?

Don't think you'll ever see an In-n-out in this area. Their stuff is all fresh and it's too far from their meat-grinder machines. Oh and they hate Mormons. But I guess not enough to not open one in St. George. Did I mention where I'll be eating dinner tomorrow night? Yes, I'm having In-N-Out! Too bad Phoenix & Denver are too far away for a Pecan Waffle fix.

I had in-n-out last night, and next weekend I'll be having some more.

I was there when you left the comment card at Wendy's too! I think the next time I want a store/restaurant to come to Utah, I'm going to have you write the comment card!
