Moron Update

Received this e-mail first thing this morning:

Thank you so much for pointing out our gaffe. I corrected it first thing this morning. We appreciate your help and your sense of humor. We had a young lady here at one time that if she couldn't figure out what was written she more or less, shall we say, "put her own spin on it". Unbelievably, most times, they were funny and even somewhat risque'.

As William Clayton once said: "All is well!" Now if I could only find Mormon Handicraft. I was up that way a month or so ago, drove all around This is the Place Heritage Park, but we never did find the Mormon Handicraft store.

Ever Shopped Here?

I was just looking at the website for this company that distributes quilting fabrics. There is a page you can go to that lists all their retail stores. I was wondering if I might find this particular fabric at any of my local quilting stores, so I clicked on Utah & was scrolling down the list. I nearly busted a gut when I noticed the name of one of the stores listed:

Back from Vacation

That would be...Thanksgiving vacation, or blogging vacation. Take your pick. I've had both recently.

A couple weeks ago on a Saturday, Kimball helped me remove the end of my 5' quilting frame, and we extended it to it's full 10' length. Kimball opened the box for the stitch regulator and got it all hooked up to the sewing machine. I'm sure glad he did that, I don't think I would have been able to figure the instructions out. Next, I actually sewed the leaders for the poles, which was the last thing I needed to do to finish setting it up the quilting machine.

Don't mind the mess. I haven't gotten around to cleaning yet.

Last week I went fabric hunting in some boxes of fabric downstairs and found this cute panel for a baby quilt. I figured it would be perfect for a trial run on the machine. It took me the better part of the evening to figure out how to get the two layers of fabric & the batt loaded on, but I did it. The next night I took the plunge & did a free hand meander on the quilt top. It went really fast, it probably took somewhere just under an hour to quilt. It in no way looks professional, I need to practice a lot more, but I thought it turned out pretty good for the first try!


I joined another online quilting group the other day - and read that they are doing a "Mystery Quilt". The fabric requirements have been posted, and during the month of December, the cutting instructions and pre-sewing instructions will be posted. Mystery Day for sewing the quilt top together is December 31. I thought this sounded fun, so I went in search of some fabric tonite for my mystery quilt. Here are my fabric selections:

Hopefully I made good color selections & the quilt will look awesome!
